Native American Colors
There is a variation between the different Native American peoples on the symbolism of colors. Here is the symbolism of the Pathway of Peace, from the philosophy of the ancient Seneca peoples (as taught by Seneca Elder Twyler Nitsch). It is an example of how color symbolism is used among the Native Americans to help direct their lives. The first seven colors were viewed as stepping stones one walked along to gain wisdom.
